In recent times, there has been a lot of interesting development in Nollywood – the Nigerian film Industry. One of the developments that caught my attention is the much-anticipated release of the trailer for the movie Banana Island Ghost (B.I.G).
The trailer for the movie was recently debuted at the iMAX Cinemas in Lekki and it was warmly received by the press, media practitioners and movie enthusiasts. The movie is a star studded one with Chioma “Chigul” Omeruah as the lead cast alongside Patrick Diabuah, Saidi Balogun, Lala Akindoju, Uche Jombo, Tomiwa Edun, Ali Nuhu, Bimbo Manuel, Damilola Adegbite and Dorcas Fapson.
The movie was written and directed by BB Sasore and produced by BAMNEMSIA Pictures, a co-production partnership between Biola Alabi Media (BAM) and Nemsia Films. Banana Island Ghost (B.I.G) is the first of the five (5) films that have been slated for production by BAMNEMSIA Pictures, so be on the lookout for more quality productions by this two power houses.
The movie production also benefitted from strategic partnership and sponsorship from key people and major brands. Adenike Adekanbi of HTB Entertainment Studios, Tosin Ashafa of Tri-Equity Capital, Micheal Ugwu founder of FreeMe Digital and Dr. Ayo Osunrinade were all co-executive producers on the movie. Brands like Kilimanjaro Restaurants, Coldstone Creamery, Lipton, HealthPlus Pharmacy and Sunlight Dishwasher all sponsored the movie.
FilmOne Distribution has been brought on to be in charge of the theatrical release of Banana Island Ghost (B.I.G) and it has been scheduled to hit the cinemas on the 4th of August, 2017 (MARK THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR NOW). The Group ED/COO of FilmOne Distribution – Moses Babatope was quoted to have said that “Banana Island Ghost is an outstanding endeavor and the level of dedication and professionalism that has been applied by everyone involved in the project, confirms to us that the film is set to be a record breaker” at the trailer release conference.
