The creative duo behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, Joe and Anthony Russo, have been confirmed to take on the reins from Joss Whedon to helm Marvel’s Avengers Infinity Wars 1 & 2. According to sources online, they reckon the deal has been finalized and they will shoot both films back-to-back over the next couple of years. Plus, it sounds as if they might have the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World) back on board too. Apparently Civil War will be “instrumental in setting up infinity War”, so if all of this pans out it’s great that we’ll have the same team calling the shots.
Obviously none of this is official until Marvel makes it so, but sources seems to feel an announcement is imminent so keep an eye on Critics Arena for updates. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 will hit theaters May 4th 2018, followed by Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 on May 3rd 2019.
